Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.
 
In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just 
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.
 
Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

No problem, Mark. We want as many folk in the grow as we can get
so we can really nail down Tristen's cross. Seeds should be on the

Getting close to closing down the season with some typical showery
weather  in the PNW. Good news is that there is not a lot of rain in the
forecast, and nightly lows in the high 40's and nudging into the low 50's
until the first week of Nov. may bring on some more ripe pods. Should
be some sun breaks and periods of sun as well, so I'm optimistic!
 
Going to post a photo of each plant along with some germination
and production data by way of records-keeping, and to inform those
interested in this cross of Tristen's. Lots to include, so please be patient
with my serial edits 
 
These photos and measurements were taken on Oct. 3rd. Plants have grown
little since then, and lots of pods have come and gone, but the basic data is good.
If we do, indeed, get a further round of pods, I will post an update for pod weight.
 
Six months on crowded tables in the garage under 2-4x4 T5HO lamps created some
long, scraggly branches at plant out in June, so these plants probably don't have the
classic upright stance of the cross at that point. Measurements are in width x height format.
 
F6W-1, 51" x 50":

Hooks emerged on 1/10/18
First harvest: 9/11, 275 grams, 270 days from germination
Total production: 1.842 kilograms (4 pounds)

So there you have it. I'd say a pretty successful season for Tristen's cross 
Once again, they show their ability to soldier on flowering and pod-setting even
in the long stretches of 95˚-100+˚ sunny days 
 
Response to the heat level of the pods ranges from 'wow, that's spicy'   , to OMG 
 
In summary, here's a little comparison across plants.

I hope everyone is pulling in lots of pods.  I really like what we've seen so far.
Great color and size in many cases, and consistent growth habit. Thanks to all

Interesting about the double pods, I have found several this season which is
unusual for this cross    . Most have a large and small side like the one in the
seed pod pics (F6W-1), but there are two ripening up on the violet plants
very similar to yours.  Will post pics when picked.

Went out to check the pods during a nice sun break this morning. Noticed a
few ripe ones, so decided to pick them before they start to split in the rain. I
was happily surprised by the number of pods that had ripened on the F6 plants
during the past few cloudy, showery days. Hoping to pull some white pods in
the next week or so. 

F6P, 245 grams; F6W-1, 185 grams; F6W-2, 115 grams.

Regarding the issue of color being maintained during the drying process
that was raised a little while ago, here are a couple of examples by way
of comparison:

These violet pods dried at a tiny bit too high of a temperature still retain
the purple coloration, although the pods are dark:

The ivory pods at the left were dried at too high of a temperature, those
on the right at 95-105*, which not only preserves the color, but dries the
seeds without harm:

Everyone is getting some F6W-LP white and some F6W violet seed.  
A couple of people have requested something else as well, so if you
want some F6P purple or F42 white, please let me know right away.  
Envelopes are ready, just have to get the stamps. I plan on sending
them out before the weekend.

I dont know if its worth saving seeds from these or not.
Each pod is about 2 inches long:
