was wondering if anyone has tried to grow these lychee fruits? I have some seed and going to try to sprout them. websearch says that they take up to 2 weeks to sprout and can take up to 7 years to produce fruit. don't know what variety I have? If its air layering than I can container grow if not I might have to scrap the plant(if it grows) cause I dont have room for a huge tree.

If it's an air layer it'll fruit in 3-4 years........at 9-12 feet tall.
Grow some Monstera Deliciosa instead. It kicks ass for salsas and doesn't need much light. It takes up space but isn't tall.

Have one from seed in the front yard, spend 2.5yrs stunted in 3 gal pot due to lack of space. I removed some bird of paradise and it went in the ground last October. It's almost 4' tall and should hit 5' by the end of the year, and i'm hoping for something in a year or two.
If your seed wasn't frozen and isn't soft and spongy, it has a chance of sprouting. I threw a handful in a spare pot and almost all sprouted.
