this is how it looks now.... in my bedroom ... the wife said something about someone who's a little crazy but I don't know who she's talking about

Excellent list! Many of my favorites:)

cool, I'm picking the seeds year after year and if I find the variety interesting (taste and  yield-wise)  I plant it ..

So, you started again! :) Waiting to see your 2015 pictures. And some comments about the peppers taste.

yup, I did :) .. I really tried hard not to overdo things... it's the capacity of my garden I should worry about... well, there's plenty of space on the balcony and around the house :)
when do you start?

thanks man.... the grow box is going to be upgraded soon with some led red & blue light bars... got the 100W power supply ready ... so I'll have to do some wiring and screwing :) ... but, I hope it's gonna be worth it... we'll see
maybe I'm a little crazy... but peppers rock! :P

well, it's been 6 days and no hooks yet.... I'm not panicking or anything, but I am a bit worried

note to self:  NEXT SEASON THINK TWICE ABOUT SOAKING SEEDS !!!
I should really be doing the soaking, I'm reading so much about faster sprouting but I guess I am just too lazy :)

and this is how the outdoors looks these days..
snowearly20151.jpg

snowearly20152.jpg

the greenhouse is constantly checked not to be overweighted by snow.... I really wouldnt like it to collaps if neglected.... it happened to my friend a few years ago... it was a greenhouse just like this, but much bigger

there was a good 40cm of snow measured on saturday... and we have another snowy week ahead of us... so.... there is no sign of spring yet... but it's ok, it's only february

we have a winner!

the first hooks were noticed in the Serrano pot
the seeds came from one of the pods rghm1u20 sent me ...
I say hooks, because until now I can see four of them...

serranofirsthooks0302201.jpg

so that's the first among the annums, so let's see who'll be next...

got a few more sprouts today...
Wild Lombok, Lemon drop and Chupetinho decided to join the party :P  --- those are all the seeds outta the pods I got from the rghm1u20

also added a couple to the grow
 - Hungarian Hot Wax (yellow)
 - sweet cayenne-like Sigaretta Biondo (for the ones that don't like the heat at all - weirdos right?)

I also updated the first post .. so there's the whole grow list for this season... I'm just maybe gonna add a few more things later from the "EU seed train" when it reaches me...
thanks ya'll for watching and I'm gonna add a few pics later when they get bigger

who joined the race today you say?
Thai, Fresno and Caribbean Red Habanero ... ;) sprouted .... now that's a good reason to party right there

-----

got a few Fatalii's out of the freezer .. that's btw my first attempt at a "Fatalii fruity sauce" and I think I'm gonna like it

I kinda followed the recipe I found on this forum somewhere... that uses Pineapples and Mangos with the Fatalii's... but I don't like mango in particular... so I decided to "spice it up" with kiwi's ... I hope that won't spoil the sauce  .. we'll see how it ends up.. so far it tastes ... how should I put it...  "interesting" :)

the happy bunch that joined the cooking party...11 fatalii's, 2 kiwi's, one teaspoon of cilantro, one can of pinneapple rings with juice, smaller onion... two cloves of garlic, juice from two lemon, half an inch piece of ginger root
hmm, oh yeah - the homemade apple vinegar and 2 carrots joined the party a little later
fataliisauce01.jpg

sliced and diced everything together... added just a little salt and sugar .. and cooked it for a hour or two ... that's how it looks in the pot
fataliisauce02.jpg

mashed it with a hand blender .. a few times
fataliisauce03.jpg

poured it to the bottles and let it slowly cool down
fataliisauce04.jpg

tomorrow I'm going to stack them in a cold and dark "mini cellar" of ours.... and let it there for at least a week to meld up
I hope it will taste good

Ooh sprouts!

Those babies are getting a little tall reaching for the light.

Might want to think about adding a couple 200w CFL's looking down on them. Give 'em some extra light without all that nasty sprout cooking heat generation other light types have. :)

Also a little bit of a fan to shake 'em up a bit, that'll toughen up the stems and slow the "lanky" growth just a bit.

Like the grow box! You put a thermometer in there yet to track the interior temp?

Looks like you're getting great germination rates!

And healthy colors!

yeah I know.... I have the fan already on them, but the LEDs i'm planning on adding were not delivered yet.. so I'm stuck with the minimum sunlight these days and two CFL's for keeping them "ok".... I hope

I have the thermometer in there... it's around 20 to 25°C all the time and the humidity is around 70% with the fan on..... I keep them moist so they'll grow

germination rate is ok... sweet basil just sprouted today so I'm on a good way I think.... many more variteties this year :) had checked good glogs for learning previous season :)
thanks
