Two Zero One Four - now the fatalii ripen !

hi everybody !

on the 20.12.2013 i planted 9 kinds of chili plants, two seeds each to kick off my little babies for 2014 as i didnt have any homegrown chilis last year, a terrible situation which had to be changed !

its a funny mix of peppers, most of them unknown and i got the seeds out of fresh pods i scavenged from a commercial grower (with permission ofcoz) last year and stored dry eversince,
so here is what is in the mix, all pictures from the plants i took them from except for a "lemondrop" and a "mild habanero"

ever since i topped my cayenne off it has slowed down in growth very much, it did branch out and everything as expected but from superfast it went to superslow.
also all of my chilis are flowering EXCEPT for the topped cayenne which aborts its flowers even before they would be able to open up.
what is going on ? any ideas ? dont liket his at all !

check it out !!! after the small one, a proper sized fatalii is starting to ripen off, this is a thing of beauty !
the little one was turned into aglio olio e pepperoncino pasta which was lovely, now this large one, wow, i cannot wait,
look at the BEAUTIFUL transition of colors ! hah ! im in love ;)

it was nearly all yellow this morning already, YAY !

on a different topic, how much do peppers like lemon drops like to branch out ?  do they go all mad and bushy or continue growing taller and taller and taller ?
can and will cutting the main branches back in height stimulate the lower ones to branch out ?

also, chances of success of throwing the branches i cut into a water jar with a bubblestone ? as in rooting them in super bubbly water ?

here is an update from my chilis, does anybody have an idea what the "orange one with the stinger" might be ? tastes very fruity and habanero stylish ! love the goronongs btw !

any idea what it may be ?

It could be a Trinidad Scorpion.  Seems a little smooth, but then some of the early pods are that way sometimes.  Have you tried tasting it yet?  Is it is a trinidad Scoprpion, it should be hotter than your Fatalii.  Just a possible guess on my part.

Google Trinidad Scorpion and look at the link that has pictures and see if they look similiar to you.

because of a shit summer with lots of far to cold weather and little sun on my balcony, this is what i find myself doing these days ...

removing flowers, to-be-flowers and little chilis in a vain attempt to have
the plans focus all their energy into ripening of the chilis which are on them right now instead...

man, we are averaging 10°C at night already here, i really hope i get them to ripen,
i have TONS of green chilis hanging :(

yeah i am really happy to see that happen,
even though there is this ONE pepper on the plant i really hope will ripen - its the most twisted, gnarly and large one of which i would love to take seeds - we will see !

the terrifyingly cold weather prognosis made me carry my plants inside for the next few days, damn you pseudo summer, damn you !
now they stand around my living room - much to the dislike of the missus ... :(
