Unusual insects in the garden thread

While watering and sippin coffee this morning I found this crazy thing today in the garden. I couldn't resist taking some close ups.

Bees. Of some sort.

it is a member of the sweat bee family, "metallic green bee". they are common in north america and very pretty to look at, they come in both metallic green and blue.

Dammit, I want some! They would go fantastic with my metallic blue ladybugs....

Yep, we have green bees here every summer.  They seem to be the type of bee that is most interested in my pepper plants.

Hehe I watch these guys almost every day.  They're quick too, a very good reason to use a bug shield fabric if you're wanting to isolate seeds.
