seeds-germination Using Saltpeter to soak seeds in...

McGuiver said:
What are your measurements, and how long do you soak them in there?
I just use a pinch of baking powder and dilute it in a quarter of a cup of water. The seeds were soaked for 24 hours. I guess it's the acid components that soften up the seed and makes it more likely to germinate. At least this works with Swedish baking powder :)

I've been really sick with a bad ear infection zapping the energy out of me. I forgot the other day to remove my seeds from the Salt Peter soak, and it went almost 30+ hours. I did wash them and placed them back into my glass containers. To tired to place them in plastic bags and paper towels. I just realized this morning that a few were already sprouting in the glass containers. I think the Salt Peter is here to stay. These seeds may go directly to potting soil.
