using seeds in brought dried pods

sometimes yes and somtimes no , it all depends on the drying process, if alot of heat was used like a dehydrator they may be dead

i had luck with Thai red,Chile de Arbol,and Guajillo dried peppers from the, and more recently Piri Piri
the only real way to tell is to give it a try :cool:
if there not smoked you have a better chance

The good thing with a bag full of dried pods is that you have hundreds of seeds. So if you don't mind the work plant out some dozens. Maybe you will get one or two plants. Might be worth the effort.
 
most of the seeds i got from dried pod grow and others dont its a bit of hit and miss but yeah give em a go
 
Also seeds might not grow true even if they do germinate. The growers could have been growing more productive hybrid plants, or the plants could have been exposed to other chiles' pollen
