Using the paper towel method.

I think thats the same reason my Trinidad turned to mush and died(funky smell seeds turned brown and translucent)
 
Would it be better to spray, or just dunk the seeds in the h202 then put into a new filter or towel?

That happened to me with another batch of seeds!
 
I know i was potting seedlings and did not use gloves
and in an moment of stupidity did the towel baggie move without sanitizing my hands first........its the only thing i can think off
that some of the fertilizer was transferred to the towel.....
 
I use large coffee filters now (instead of paper towel). The towels are too porous. I have some seeds that have been in bags since 01/14. Some are moldy while others look/smell OK. 
 
Haha yeah I woke up this morning to half the coffee filter being dry, so ended up just planting into soil. Hopefully in not too late.
