Hey guys, awesome creations here.

Voters, the way to vote on this TD is to vote for who used the basket ingredients the best, Chopped (TV) style, as in transforming them in a cohesive way.
 • Beef short ribs
 • Red wine
 • Panko bread crumbs
 • Canned creamed corn
VOTE!

I thought Scovie was gonna make red wine braised short rib hash with panko fried onions and two sunny side up eggs over corn cakes.

And I thought TB was gonna make fish tacos. Somehow.

The tamales caught my eye too (and I love tamales). The creamed corn made a moist dough but the panko balanced it out like masa harina. Sort of the same effect but the corn flavor from the wet ingredients, not the dry. Brilliant!

All of these are very creative. I like geeme's too, when eaten together like that.

And of course, frydad's masterpiece.

This was a slightly difficult choice.geeme would have had my vote on the
dish I most wanted to ingest but I opted for frydad4 as he busted out some
Heston Blumenthal-cooking-a-gateaux-with-a-vacuum-cleaner science and
petrified many potential participants for almost an entire day.

Also, high points go to JayT for bringing up some vintage Cardboardeaux
'12 from his cellar. That was a good year.

Great entries by all and not one I wouldn't enjoy siting down to. Sum really caught my eye with those tamales and geeme’s Flavor looked great. I went with Fiddy as his was, while not the same in any way, along the same style as I was thinking of and he knocked it out of the park.

Toughie.

But if I factor in theoretical disqualifications of Frydad and DeathtoSnails for either using or not using ingredients, I feel like I need to go with the one I might most like to try from the remaining entries.

Therefore, Booma gets my vote on this one.

Everything made sounds delicious.

Some have less curb appeal (ahem, JayT, cough) but I'm sure taste awesome! I <3 shepherd's pie!

Geeme combined both artistry in plating & a tasty looking dish. And Sum's tamales looked tremendous.

But in the end, after a review of all of the dishes, FD's entry not only set the bar, but preemptively crushed the competition. The creativity and esthetics were off the charts.

Nice job FD - I'm in shock that you took a challenge of stewed meat & creamed corn and created something that looked delicate and unique.

Ps - compliments to MrPots, who worked hard and made a killer dish but just missed the posting deadline for his final pics (he posted in another topic & it looks great)

PPs - I'd be remiss in not mentioning Booma's Epic Balls - it sounds very tasty.

PPPs - DTS did pretty good for not buying the right ingredients.

I thought everyone did a fantastic job with this TD! All of the entries looked sooooooo tasty!!!!

But in the end, JT got my vote. I absolutely cannot resist a great 'casserole' dish!!!!! :)

Huh?

I guess it would depend on what frydad's actual plated entry consisted of, or interpretation of the rules.

My reasoning was partly due to having no less than three people yesterday tell me that fish eggs (caviar?) do include fish protein. Which, if I read correctly:

THP: I cannot stress this enough, do not add meat or fish proteins. Adding bacon, for example... disqualified. However bacon fat would be allowed.

might cross some line. I didn't really understand the fat part above. maybe theres a way to get around that rule included there.

Seeing as both fd and dts entries made it through to voting, I guess frydad wins.. lol.

This is why it's important to READ the entries and not just look.

Good on you FD for fooling him, but that is NOT caviar, he made that shit from wine. FROM WINE! AMAZING!

Next time you should really read the descriptions to get a full understanding of the entries or you do a disservice to the entrants.
