0 votes for Sum? That ain't right - I almost had to flip a coin between Pic & Sum they were that close. Someone give homie some love! At least a vote for bear...that guy....

great, I just clicked away more specific kudos to my top three entries. fail.

Anyways, more to the point, I couldn't really narrow it down to two. so I googled, and eventually ran across a page that explained to me how many ways the numbers 1,2, and 3 can be arranged. So if there are 6 possible permutations, and I assign 2 groups to each of my top three-pulling two from a hat a random should give me a coin toss. If I happen to pull the same name twice right off, they will win outright.

JayT: 123, 321
SD: 312, 213
Megamoo: 231 132

And the hat draw results: 132, 213 = SD and Megamoo!

And if SD heads and Megamoo tails,

the winner of my vote is:

Megamoo! congrats!

Damn...not an easy choice folks! I have been through them all over and over and still can't decide! Heck I'd stand in line for hours to taste some of the ones with no votes! Great prep and plate up pics across the board too!!! Good luck all...I gotta go back and look through them all again. I am in a freaking barracks with nothing but a microwave...you folks are killing me with these dishes!

keybrdkid getting all scientific and sheet! I loved everyone's curry. This was a lot of fun. I would totally love to try some of that Cauliflower concoction Sum. I think I will make it. Usually my rule of thumb for voting is always which plate I would most like to nom on. That would be Pic1 because I am a seafood lover and that looks amazing. As usual DTS wins the photography award, but my vote goes to Scovie. Partially because I LOVE wings, partially because I love the story of Doc! Scovie really does do this. He will randomly call people and talk with them for hours. I will also be making your curry wings Scovie. Thanks THP for probably the most inspirational throwdown yet. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of curry.

Sum, papadums are the crispy flatbreads you get before the meal, like chips and salsa: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papadum
I can understand the steaming since you can do the same to a tortilla for wrapping, so wondering, how did that taste? Did it break apart?

Jay man nice phall, I dig it. Come to NYC and we'll do that phall challenge together and drink some beer. Next time use basmatti rice, it really makes a difference with Indian food, it is a dryer, less puffy grain that serves as the perfect bed for Indian curries and sets it apart from the stickier rices. I also find the taste is subtly less floral and more nutty. I like the jasmine for Thai because their curries are soupier and fragrant with the fresh herbs. And that's usually the correct pairing respectively. But it looked bangin' and that's nit picking!

Of course you voted for the one with research, lol. Shit, a call to Jamaica? I just got caught up and read that part. Those wings look awesome, they had my eye after I voted more than before. Cravings maybe. P. Dreadie would be proud. Get him in here!

KEEP VOTING!

whatever - he was just trying to score a dime bag & figured he'd ask while he had 'em on the phone. :high:

I bought papad... not papadums. Not too privy to what you are talking about, but these were the size of tortillas and flimsy... just like tortillas, but a bit thinner. It's an unleavened flat bread with spices thrown in the mix. These were NOT crispy when I bought them... maybe you are thinking of something different? This stuff was easily torn apart to pinch pieces of the Aloo Gobi dish.

And to Scovie... who wants to call the cops on me for steaming tortillas... I only do that when making burritos and need them pliable.

Papad, papadum same thing :). You roast it or deep fry it to make crispy flatbreads. Yup, you bought the right thing, but you don't steam em.

Well... Scovie IS the tortilla police. They must be browned in a pan or a flat top, never microwaved. He learned this when he called Manuel in Tijuanna.

You're over thinking it. Get some CI glowing red and throw that tortilla on there until you see smoke, (flour for burritos).
Flip until you see smoke. Remove from pan add fillings and flex your big Bear muscles and roll that thing up!
Steaming or Microwaving a flour tortilla makes them chewy like a Water Pump Gasket on a '68 Ford Fairlane, and if a wet burrito is desired, won't absorb sauce like the Pan-and-smoke method.

My grandma would put a stack of 20 in a pan and cook/rotate/flip/stack all of them at once. I can do her method, but we rarely eat 20 in one sitting. Gramma would have been buried and Grampa would've been in prison if she ever thought to steam them!

Rick...great plate. Megan...almost voted for you because nothing that awesome should go voteless. Came down to Mega vs. Pic for me. Tough call. Had to go with the what I would consider most delicious...and in the end Greg's plate could not be denied.
