wanna try odd tomatoes (minis, dwarfs), jelly melons, tomatilloes -Suggestions

Ive always grown tomatoes,but i wanna up my game to some rarities or oddballs... Anyone with seeds to spare or trade for pepper seeds of any of the following? PM me...  Also interested in any suggestions of oddball plants fruits,veggies.. rare, weird, fun... ill give it a try if it sparks my interest

Tomatilloes... never tried fresh or growing but makes amazing salsa verde so i think id like it

Sweet Million is an excellent cherry hybrid, we grow them every year.  I'm big on heirloom tomatoes for taste, so we grow Cherokee Purple, Black Krim, Brandywine, Abe Lincolns and Sophie's Choice.  We grow 2 plants of tomatillos, have tried both purple and green varieties.  The green ones seem to do a bit better/more productive in our garden.  2 plants yield a lot - multiple quarts of pickles and such, plus pounds frozen. 
 
No experience with the jelly melon.
 
You might want to look into husk cherry or ground cherry - definitely unique and great in salads and sauces.

great suggestion on the husk cherry.. will definitely give that a try... looks kool and sounds delicious...
 
you mentioned pounds for the freezer with the tomatillo... it freezes well... i assumed they were like tomatoes and i would never bother freezing tomatoes... learn something new everyday... thanks... :cheers: 
 
From that list I've only grown Indigo Rose. Grows very well, but to me - and maybe it was a one-off and needed more time - the taste wasn't there. So one season and done. "Dancing with Smurfs" sounds pretty trippy. Like SmokenFire, I do a lot of heirlooms. I grew Goldman's Italian Heirloom last year and it's become one of my new favorites. Very versatile - fresh eating, canning, sauce, whatever. Many fruits in the 1lb range. 
 
I've had Kiwano 3 times in my life. The insides look like a cross between ectoplasm, frogspawn and snot but they're quite fun to eat. Like kiwis, however, the taste vile if under or over ripe, just so insanely tart, so it's going to take some practice for you to get a good one.
 
I grew Black Pearl Tomatoes last year. They're cherry tomatoes that go from light green through various shades of brown (inc some that are kind of purple) to a sort of slightly pinky reddy brown that was the tastiest cherry tomato I've ever had (I'll admit, I've only grown a few varieties myself). Bought them on a whim and got great growth, good productivity and some amazing tasting fruit.

im a bite size kinda guy... i grow some bigger ones for others but personally i prefer grapes cherries jelly beans.. wanna try the currants and the teaspoon tomatoes... i love mixing all the little tomatoes with bite size balls of fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and garlig and oregeno from the garden.... heaven...

yeah ihave seen videos of the jelly melon... i mostly want that want out of the kool look of it... im betting it will be good with the right recipie or complimentary food... still though, i grow alot of stuff just for the awe factor.. 
 
Yeah, they're not bad if eaten at the right stage and the looks sure are something. I'd love to make a halloween hotsauce from theme. Maybe ghostbusters themed.
 
I have a few on your list and here's some others you will like if you're into just cherry types. I have seeds if you want some. Did you see the Compari plants in my video, they are pumping out golfball sized tomatoes and some are turning red since I posted the video. I counted one cluster with 25 flowers on it, just crazy production.

Sour gherkins seem cool. Last year, we found a vine of a similar fruit growing like a weed atop some bushes in the back yard. Pretty cool to have bite-sized watermelon-looking cucumbers.
