Agreed, some N is always needed and ferts should always be somewhat balanced. I stand by my opinion (based on everything i've seen) that P and K should be in higher proportion in the late stages of the season for flowering and fruiting. I am using roughly 1-3-2 now on my bigger plants, but in moderation, we'll see how they do.
I didn't say you didn't need P & K. I myself add HESI PK 13/14 as a standard feed to all my pots. as they're flowering and giving fruit I also increase the N supply.

yes i think i may buy another bag today on the way home
i forget when the last one went on
must be time now for another round :woohoo:

From the HESI website itself ....
Plants have an increased need for phosphorus as well as potassium in the flowering phase, by applying PK 13/14 we completely fulfil this need. The flowering phase is the supreme point in the life of the plant. The metabolism is then working at full power and large quantities of enzymes are being produced for flowering. Furthermore, the plant gets bigger and therefore needs more components. The specific substances that are responsible for this are phosphorus (enzymes and hereditary characteristics) and potassium (for the transport within the plant). To ensure that the plant is not unnecessarily loaded with ballast or an excess of salt too early, Hesi PK 13/14 should be used starting from the second half of the flowering phase up to one week before the end of the cycle. The dosage is gradually increased over the final weeks of the flowering phase.

I'm not trying to argue here, I am sure that you are more experienced than me! I'm just trying to firgure out what is best.

I honestly don't get it. who's arguing? I'm saying you need N for growth... that's a fact. I'm saying you need more N for flowering and fruiting than to just vegetative growth... that's a fact. I'm saying I agree you need that P and K are also needed... that's a fact and you can read my posts again.

I didn't say anything about when to add P and K, but while we're at it, let's just say HESI's fertilizers are originally meant for "another plant"... chiles have different requirements. feeding the plant with P and K will induce flowering.

I read your posts, you said that N should be in higher proportion than P and K in the flowering/fruiting state. I, HESI's website and everything else I've read says the opposite, that's all :D

Anyways, thanks for the info. I have more to learn I guess.

Where did I say that? and if you fed your plant with more P than N, your plant would probably die.

Those are so awesome. A plant full of peni (plural for penis) :) I'm gonna have to get some of those to grow next year.

What is the best ratio for plant food to use? 10-10-10 or 1-3-2 or what? I have Lowes and Home Depot near me. I need to know what is good to use.
