Watering Tomato Plants In Florida?

Hi Folks -

I'm having a time with my tomatoes. I live in north Florida, where the last couple of days has been between 84-90 degrees. All but one of my tomatoes are in a raised bed garden, and I'm having a difficult time determining just how much water they need. Two days ago, I thoroughly watered the plants with regular water (no fertilizer), and the next day they were all severely drooping. It got worse today. So, I stuck a finger down into the soil to try and get a feel for the moisture, and it wasn't real wet, it was more faintly moist. The tomato in the 5 gallon bucket is doing great. How do you determine how much water to give? I've read everything from once a week to reading that tomatoes are big plants that need lots of watering. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
