Watermelon Habanero

Was told watermelons won't work. Had to try and play devil's advocate.

8 oz shredded carrots
3/4 cups white sugar
1 1/4 cups Lime/Lemon
1 1/2 LB watermelon no rind.
15 habaneros (~3/4 lb.)

After running it all through the blender on liquefy in the stock pot it went.

I got it down to a creamy texture that. The watermelon is on the side and takes the rough edge of the pure hab taste.

looks great, as always! I think just about anything is fair game for a sauce with the right combination.

Wow those new sauces look yummy!

Really good to see your fresh creativity and willingness to experiment.

Also like the fact that you use lemon/lime in place of vinegar.

Keep those creative juices flowing!;)

+1 on what dvg said! That looks REAL tasty!!! Hope its as good as your others!
I believe it's his creations so far and I hope he sends you a bottle for review! I suggested to him to make it in 5 gallon bucket volumes but I don't think he's convinced enough yet :) His experimenting is making so great combination's but they just need more heat. So far his Pineyhab and this watermelon are my favorites.

Congrats You've proved them wrong! Watermelon is just tricky as it's all liquid, I made wine out of it before and it took me a couple tries to get it right. But hell, you can put anything into a sauce, I bet with the right combo of habs and sugar my dogs poop could taste good

Anyone need an 11 yr old boy? Just kidding. I made another batch of this with double the watermelon and had cooking and bottling pics. Then my youngest son formatted the SD card for his digital camcorder, and he knows he is never to format that one because it had sauce and garden pics on it. I was going to get him his own SD card for christmas although now I am so peeved about pictures lost(47 total most not sauce but very important) that I have been considering getting rid of his camcorder. UGH.

Haha, don't be too hard on the little guy, just remember boys will be boys.

And if you are honest with yourself, you'll have to admit that you did much worse things growing up...I know I did.;)

Decided to play with some bottling wax. I need to find the really rubbery stuff like on Maker's Mark. PM me if you know where it can be bought.

Edit to clarify placement: These are taken on a counter, but not the one I prep and bottle on, as I have had questions about the clutter.

Mmmmmmm. You've been busy! What kind of wax did you use?

Crosby and Baker
Bottle Wax
Gold

I got it at a local wine making shop. Googled bottle wax and found this little wine making shop right near me. Never knew it was there and when I walked in, I walked into a whole new world. If I liked wine I would be going back and buying supplies.

Still looking for more rubbery wax.
