We Aussies are about to enter the BBQ season.

I seen this on a forum and just had to share it.

We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity .
When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...
(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill – beer in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.

Here comes the important part:
(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine...
(6) The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

Important again:
(8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

More routine...
(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:
(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ' and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women!

I knew you Aussies didn't know how too BBQ.

We pick out the meat and slave over the Q all day! In Oz all you do is flip it once... Aussies FAIL!

Are you guys really known for good steaks? We have Outback Steakhouse over here, and I always figured it was just some made up marketing hype like Häagen-Dazz.

Yes we are known for great steaks.....But on the other side of the coin.....The US is known in Australia to have good steaks as well.....

But naturally ours are better...

I challenge you to a grill off! Wait... uh... hmmmmmm. No UDS, never mind.

Yes, they are US owned. What I meant was, why are they called Outback? What does Australia have to do with steaks? That was my point. I'm sure you have good steaks, but are you known for them? Or is it some dumb marketing idea?

Our Waygu beef is supposed to be good.

Does Oz have a BBQ season? I thought you guys did it all year through. Our BBQ season is whenever the sun comes out - so it lasts for about 4 days:lol: I however in that stalwart British fashion give the weather the middle finger and barbie all year round. Christmas dinner this year will be a barbie, but unlike you guys who'll be cooking and eating out in the blazing sun, I'll be huddled under a golf umbrella freezing my bollocks off. Then I'll run indoors to eat it. So on Christmas day spare me a thought chuck a few snags on the grill for me and thank god you're Australian.

That's what Australia Day is all about but we do it at Christmas as well, and easter, and Bathurst 1000 weekend, and mother's day, and fathers day, and monday and Tuesday and Wed..........You get the point.....
