Weeds

Mulch.  Groundcover.  If you're really lazy, hire somebody to put nursery cloth down, and cut X's where you want to plant out. It's also great for no-till.

I used to use weed killer all the time before we had our first child. Now I see the beauty in my lush green lawn with all the yellow soldiers saluting me every morning.

I lay down rolls of plastic called "Weed Block"...kinda like landscape fabric, but it's plastic and works better. Cut holes for your plants and no weeds grow where the plastic is. Here's a random pic from last year.

I plan on tilling and laying down this years' plastic tomorrow.

Bhuter, if you have grass clippings, or trees in your yard that drop leaves, you can put them in your garden area, with this over the top, minus the X's.  Let it sit over the winter, and cut the X's in the spring.  If you do it like that, you'll never have to till again.  After about 2 or 3 seasons, you'll be amazed at how productive and loose your soil is...
.
I envy you guys that can plant in ground...

Yep well looks like ill put down bark then take a picture of the day when it looked really nice till the dogs f*cked it up. Then ill go back to Roundup. Once peppers are five feet tall the weed will take care of them selves.

A good electric fence would keep them from making mud.  But you could just leave the straw, and then you wouldn't have  to do any extra work to keep weeds down.
