Went to Firehouse Subs last night

Last night after a full day of fishing, getting rained on and then more fishing, I decided to grab a bite to eat at Firehouse with a buddy of mine. After hearing about their new soda machine with ridiculous amounts of drinks and flavors, I wanted to see it for myself. So I ordered my customary #1 Hook and Ladder with everything but onions and ventured over to the sauce rack. One sauce in particular caught my eye, with its large red #10 of 10 heat level sticker I decided to have a swallow or two. I grabbed it and headed back to the table, reading the label which proclaimed "Hand picked Red Savina habaneros and choice picked habaneros" along with carrots, and vinegar base. Not getting too far ahead of myself I dripped a few drops on a BBQ chip and had a bite. Let me tell you, it was delicious. There wasn't as much heat as I would expect from red savinas but I liberally applied a few twenty douses to my sandwich and went off into peppery bliss.

It's a sub place that serves all types of good sandwiches. Pretty much everything there is good, including small selection of hot sauces. Nothing for a serious chilehead but a little heat is better than none.

I just recently tried them. I enjoyed my sub and their chili was okay. I first added the Cheech's hot sauce but it still wasn't hot enough so I added Dave's Ultimate Insanity. My sister wanted to try it with the Dave's which is weird because she finds jarred jalapenos too spicy. She was going to put in more of the sauce, a whole tablesppon but I told her to just put in a few drops. She was glad that I warned her but I think so took it pretty well. This is an alternative to the Jersey Mike's about two blocks away.

when i still had an office job a Firehouse opened right around the corner...
I went on one of the first few days it was open and waited in line (bad idea- i hate waiting in line for food- i would've left but i was picking up for a co-worker too). They finally took my to go order and eventually actually got my sandwich made. Got back to the office and they had left the meat off of the darn thing. Other than going back to get that fixed i haven't set foot in one since. Quizno's subs are much better.

They do have a lot of hot sauces.
