It came from a Carolina Reaper plant. It's part of the first group of pods from the plant. The heat from these is on par with other Carolina Reapers.

That is interesting. Did any of the other pods this year look like the typical reaper ?

This was a very late plant, and I've got the second set of pods coming on now. They seem to have longer tails, and resemble the reapers a bit more. Other than that, it could be that the seeds got mixed up, because a lot of them look like Moruga Scorpions.

whatever you had it got crossed with something definitely. that thing is way too smooth to look like a reaper or a butch dosent it?

Here are some pods from another plant from the same group of seeds. Definitely a different phenotype, but they smell and taste exactly the same, with the same insane heat.

theres too much variance in each pepper to judge by just one you have to look at the general apperance overall. That being said the second set of pics is not like any reaper ive ever seen. The big question is - where did you get your seeds?

The seeds might be from an unstable reaper cross... maybe an F2 cross seeds now throwing out all these weirdo plants.. Could be something special...

It's still throwing some crazy pods. I'm beginning to believe that it's a F2 Reaper. A lot of the new pods resemble the Naga Viper.

Could be from the first batch of reaper seeds released.
Remember when the first batch had low to no germination and or TONS of pod variations?
A few people are still laughing about it-on the way to the bank...great memories die hard. LOL
