So the second of about 6 unknown plants has ripe pods that I picked today. They look like curly wrinkly cayenne. They have a great flavor with moderate heat with an almost apple tasting finish. Any idea what my mystery pepper is?

Are they red when ripe? Could just be the wrinkly curly version of cayenne. Some of mine look like that. Although, I never noticed an apple tasting finish to them.
They are red when ripe. They dont have the cayenne flavor to me.
That's interesting. I wonder if they are a cross of some sort? Were you under the impression you were buying a certain type of plant or seed? Post some pics.

pc-1 has a red apple finish but they dont get wrinkly unless they overmature. do they point upwards on the plant or downwards?
