Ground squirrels do it to mine. When i get very irritated i set up the Rat Zapper. It wont kill a tree squirrel but it does kill ground squirrels.
I would only use blood meal and bone meal in moderation. Blood meal is high in nitrogen and bone meal is high in calcium/phosphorus but bone meal is rather slow to release. Ive never heard of bone meal being effective but blood meal does work for some critters.
