What is this "Hot Chipotle"?

I got seeds labelled "hot chipotle" and this is what the pods look like so far. Are they jalapenos? Fresnos? Serranos maybe??

The shape looks far too long and thin to be deemed a Jalapeno. Interesting.

Yes but...One of the seed vendors who shall remain nameless (cough, PJ, cough) is selling a pepper that he is calling a chipotle pepper. I guess he thought it had a smokey quality to it...

Hmm..
I have an idea: Let's sell my ghosts as Spooky Chipotle Chillis, it will be the greatest success ever. [I'm already chuckling at the idea of a vendor taking that idea and actually doing it successfully.]

you can trust everyone who tells you that Chilpotle is a smoking process i have a friend who makes his own from Fooled You(no heat) and other Jalapenos YUMMY!!
 
and yes i would say thats a Seranno you have there

So, using that definition, if my chipotle is torn into pieces it is no longer a chipotle?
What if I toss them into my grinder and grind away? "Chipotle Grindings"?
If I toss some chipotle into my mocajete and start pounding away they are know called??? "Chipotle Poundings"?
Sigh, Now I'm kind of disappointed I'll have to change the name of my Blueberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce

I think willard3 want to say, the chipotle is the name used only for a whole chile, not chopped, grinded, or whatever. As you use the word Paprika to name the powder made from some specific dried peppers. Even if BEFORE they are dried peppers, AFTER grinding is named Paprika. The potato is potato, but when you mash it, is called mashed potato, right? This means is no more potato???
