Looks kind of like that not sure that is it. Will keep looking and see what I come up with thanks for posting that could be it. Think I was told the seed were black pearl but does not look like that is what it is.

That is interesting...I saved seeds from my Black Pearl plant last season and planted them this year. The Black Pearl that is now growing in my south flower bed looks EXACTLY like yours! The only plants that were near last year's Black Pearl were Hungarian Wax, Jalapeno, Thais, and Orange Habs (none of which look to be a potential pollen donor). Maybe they have something further back in their lineage that is now presenting. I am soooo relieved to see that I am not the only one that is experiencing a change of phenotype in what I KNOW is a Black Pearl. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Could be not sure I am almost 100% sure these were black pearl seeds. We have had a tremendous amount of rain this year not sure that would case the change in pods though. Have one more smaller one growing with it a lot more purple on the plane and just putting on flowers that are darker purple will let you know how it come out when pods are showing.

I grow only black pearl.
I have now 1 plant (1 dead during the winter).
I think somewhere I read that they are easy to cross and that why you shouldn't grow them near other pepper.

I don't think you have Black Pearl.
Black Pearl has only round pods.
I saw a lot of vendors selling seeds from about any dark colored plant that had a pod that went from purple to red.
If I remember right, black pearl had purple buds, not white with purple tinting.

Look at Black Prince.
Looks are more like what you have.
But your buds are still too white...

Just tried the pods about the heat of jalapeño sweet taste at first going to cut down the two to make room and keep the dark purple one it looks cool want to save the seeds from it.
