What is this? Whitening of Jalapeno leaves

This was on one Early Jalapeno before I started to harden them off,
but now it is on a few Early Jalapenos, and even a little on my
Big Jim Chilis after two days of having them out in the
morning sun.

Anyone know what this is?
Side effect of too much sun? A disease?

Thanks.

This first pic is a little wilty from being outside,
but they seems to spring right back with some water.

I'm no expert by any means but from my experience the leaves are good until they wither to half their original length. Then I pinch to focus energy on healthy foliage.

sun scald the reason is your plant was in shade and you put it in direct sun and thats what happened now you should put it in the shade

Yes, I grew them indoors using natural light through a
west facing window. I was trying to harden them off
to plant outdoors, but I guess I overdid it.

3rd the sun scald. A few of those leaves are goners and will drop. I would keep that plant in the shade until it shows signs of recovery.

im guessing sunscald as well. i have same things on tomato plants raised in greenhouse and then planted under direct sun.
