pests What kind of bug is this?

I found this little guy on one of my ghost pepper plants yesterday, and today here's still there. It kind of looks like a tick, but I tried to identify it on the web with no luck. Just wondering if he's a friend or foe.

It looks like a species of stink bug similar to ones we have here in Brisbane,
they feed on leaves and buds of plants, if it is a stink bug you should get rid of it.

If it's a stink bug and ya believe what ya read on the interweb... don't crush um as the smell attracts more...

Its a pretty good idea to get rid of any bug or spider on your plants, unless its a ladybug.

I have been letting all the spiders stay on the leaves thinking they are eating the bugs.
You are saying I should not let them stay?

I thought the same thing about spiders, don't they eat insects?

Spiders stay on the plants unless... Well, unless yer a sissy and don't like spiders. They're a beneficial as far as I'm concerned. The larger Orb web spiders we get I actually feed all the caterpillars and Horn worms to. I grow big spiders. Big happy spiders that keep sissy's away from my garden

Don't kill the spiders. They're meat eaters, not vegetarians. Won't harm a pepper plant.
