Yeah the open top jars I was speaking of were the canning jars. I had found some 4 oz canning jars here locally and was wondering if those would work.creardon-
this post probably got lost on the first go around, but a few days later, WELCOME!
and the bottle question is kind of subjective. The majority of hot sauces are sold in the 5 oz woozy size but it all depends on the consistency of the sauce and if it can be sold in a 10oz size for a competitive price.
"Open-top" jars, can you describe what you mean by that? Larger mouthed sauce bottles (like salad dressing or BBQ sauce) or maybe canning jars with the lid and ring?
And again-

I would suggest if using a canning jar get ones without quilts patterns that make labeling a pain.
I personally use mostly 8oz woozies and a few 5oz for sending samples(I have yet to find a smaller one for samples).
http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/ good variety regardless of which one you choose.
