what to grow

what peppers would you recomend i grow next?

I like crazy looking peppers like the brain strain
also like the supper hots.
open to great tasteing peppers as well dont have to melt your toung. some thing good for cooking with that my wife might be able to eat.

Boise has a damn nice growing season. Not quite long enough for exotic peppers---you will still have to start them inside, but long enough to mature nice peppers outside.
What kinds?
Really depends on how much room you have and your tastes. Everyone will give you an opinion on their personal favorites, and reviews from mambers would be a good place to start.
Seeds are not all that expensive, and reviews of the better sellers can be found here.

@ prehensile...do you like the taste of the Black Pearls? I sure don't...taste like dirt to me, but then again, most ornamentals have that "earthy" taste to them...

just take a pods with characteristics that you like and grow them year after year....that's the fun thing to me...if you get crosses, once you get to the F2 generation, there ain't no telling what the pods shape or color will be....

all ready got black pearls growing. they do look realy cool the blue flowers and all. i have been wanting to try eating one of the pods for a while so i will eat one this morning to see if i get the dirt taste.....i dont think it tasted that bad. wow it had a ton of seeds in it for being so small

I would definitely recommend growing any of the chocolate hab varieties. Great flavor and still packs a punch.
Also forgot to mention the bishops crown for something on the milder side. Cool shape and fruity flavor. Those are only hot of you leave the guts in it.

Never tried one got then here in a swap, the plants color is awesome, no flowers yet.

Crazy looking pods? Perhaps you can think about Bubba or Bishops Crown? (Same shape but personal I like the taste of the Bubba most)

for crazy shapes, the trinidads definately have it , the scorp, the brain, the primo, even, the 7pot and jonahs can be wild shapes, of course the are all pretty much super hot! for great tasting peppers that wont have your wife in tears at the dinner table, might i suggest some of the med hot delicious peppers like the aji benito, aji cristal, aji omnicolor, cobanero, aji lemon, or criolla sella, so far out of the 200 or so varieties i have tasted or grown, i have found only the ornamentals had flavors i disagreed with so to speak, that is to say not much flavor @ all. otherwise i have enjoyed the flavors of everything from nardello to moruga and thats a lot of wiggle room :D as for the black pearl, I think smokemaster summed it up perfectly," nice looking plant w/ decent heat, but it has that overwhelming black pepper taste"
