Whats everyone growing this Year?

Ive a managed to 'limit myself to 60 odd varieties. I could even decide on one theme so I decided to go with these three:

1. Wild species - unlike the common varieties which are
fairly easy to grow, many of the rare wild species are
supposed to be hard to germinate. I like a challenge!!

2. Tasty peppers - after all chiles are grown to be eaten.
I've got plenty of new recipes I want to try this year
particularly blisteringly hot ones to feed to my mates
who 'can handle anything'

3. Unusual Pods & Beautiful flowers - as well as being
great to eat, some chile varieties are simply stunning
and make great gifts and house plants.

I've got about 100 or so plants, this is going to be an insane pepper season for me.
 
I tried to grow a bunch - chocolate hab, white hab, yellow devil's tongue, carribean red hab, golden hab, red savina.

All that make it past the seeling state was a single Red Savina, which is doing very well. But I learned a lot, and hopefully will get a better crop next year.
 
Don't feel bad, John, at least one of your seeds sprouted... of the pots I tried to get to come up so far, none have.

I'm sticking to pre-sprouted peppers, from now. I have such a black thumb.

Say does anyone here live near a saspadilla tree???

Really? It's past the first frost here, and being in Michigan, the growing season's pretty short. I didn't think I had time to start a new crop.

If you're just starting now, you could still be ok, but grow in pots so that you can bring them inside in the fall.

Thats where I got my chili dearbol seeds. I got about 80% germination out of the little plastic bag of dried. They are grown great each year I have grown them, even though the seeds are about 5 years old now.

And it's much cheaper than ordering online... :)

I just counted my garden and I have...

173(!) Pepper plants. It's going to be a big harvest this year...
