White ooze around the chilli plant

I have noticed white ooze, most likely some kind of fungi. I have found it around two peppers in two separated raised beds. Does any of you know if it can harm the plant or is it just a coincidence, that the stuff grows around those two peppers.

Otherwise, both plants grow great.

This one looks like some kind of mycellium, the other one seemed like a 5 milimeters thick layer of ooze on one side of the pepper stem. It was white, slightly yellow or creme color and had pleasant sweet smell.

Might be a slime mold of some sort. Either way it's better to assume harmless unless you see it actively damaging the plant.

The stuff is moving up the stem. It starts as white and then turns dark, almost black. I hope it doesn't harm the peppers.

Here's possible reason. We've had quite some rain lately and even if the soil seems to be drying out, the water pours down the stem like this. :) You can also see the fungal growth. I'll also make a video of peppers which seem to be more than healthy.

They look very healthy despite this little nuisance. I'll wait for a week, weather will get hot and dry again. I'll see how it develop.

Here's how the peppers look a little higher up.
