Wilting Plants... Possible Problem

So I have a number of varieties in 1 gallon pots. Some are wilting in full sun around 1-4 or maybe even 5... Is this because my containers are small and they are getting too hot, they feel very warm and they are black...
Do I just need a shade cloth? Im in Lubbock and its pretty hot and sunny

Could be many things. Were they hardened off before they were brought outside? They could be over/under watered. It could be a nutrient problem. A picture would tell us more.

If they bounce back later, without you doing anything to them, its fine. You'll get a bit hotter peppers

That is their way of conserving water.  Bigger pots would def help.  I'd go to the 5-7gallon range for your next pot up.  The sun is intense and I'm guessing they perk back up after the sun goes down or the shade gets on em?
