Wimpy Congo Trinidads

I have been growing Congo Trins this year with amazing results.
They used to be pretty hot!

We got a BUNCH of rain, like 2 or 3 weeks almost straight.
The pepper plants put out a BUNCH of fruit.

Now the Congo Trins aren't spicy any more.

Is this normal?

It can happen, although that seems extreme, if you don't need to use any more off the plants just leave them on.

I've found the peppers to be hotter if picked towards the end of the day...
