There are a few spots still open. Probably will sow NuMex 6-4 and some Morouga, because people are asking for it....

Great haul from Jamie, he really shares the P-love!

And those two in one night had to be brutal...

We were supposed to have rain all week, but it looks like we're done. Happy with what we got and at least it's been cloudy and cooler, only hit 85 today, which is good for the plants I relocated. They were just a little droopy when I got home.

Have a great week.

I got a little carried away with Jamie's fresh box of chile bounty....It was well worth the pain....

High of 85....Sweet! We're still close to 100 every day, but I can feel the change coming...You have a great week, too Scott!

A couple days ago I asked Spicegeist for some seeds from his beautiful new (F1) cross, Sonoran Chiltepin x Barrackpore 7 Pot, to go in my bird pepper project I'm planning for next season. Today this wonderful package showed up in my mailbox:

The small envelopes are all filled with fresh bird peppers, too. I had to try one of the CAP 501 x Bhut right away—YEAH!!! That's a bangin' tiny little pod!

Really beautiful and wonderful stuff here, Charles. You are truly a chile creating wizard...Wow, I can't believe it. I can't thank you enough!

Lol, it's West Texas for sure.... :fire:

Lumbre is a cross between Chile Pequin and one of the New Mexico varieties (6-4, I believe). Bred by Faron Lytle, the grandson of Jim Lytle, a.k.a. Big Jim. It's got a real nice kick to it, and a nice thick flesh. The fresh red pods are awesome—Think of giant Chile Pequins...I'm growing a row of it next year.

Hollah if you want seeds from the dried pods...and have a great weekend!
I was going to ask you about that pepper as well. Thanks for the info. Bet it has good SW flavor.

Those slightly more elongated pods next to the brown one are Aji Cristal (C. baccatum) x Cumari Pollux (C. praetermissum).  They tend to have very few seeds in them, but might be worth a grow if there are any viable seeds in there.

Nice haul from Charles Gary!

He is definitely a talented pepper breeder!

By now you should have gotten the rain and cooler weather. The winds are out of the north all day, we totaled just under 2" of rain for the week. I didn't think it was going to come through after the poor showing earlier this week.

Have a great weekend!

We got at least a couple inches rain here...All my plants look like I just gave them a strong dose of Miracle Gro. I can't remember the rain ever having that effect...but that was the first rain we've had in a very long time, maybe six weeks or so.

You have a great week too!

Yes and they are setting, just a few here and there. Flowers are everywhere, and I hit them with some food this weekend....come on pods!

I just gave all mine a little "bump" too, Scott. Pods will be a-poppin!

Looking great Gary! Great looking pkgs, I know Jamie's stuff is definitely smokin hot!

Thanks Matt!. Spankin hot is more like it! His Barrackpore and Douglah are on a whole 'nother plane of punishment for me...I almost dread eating one. But you know it hurts so good!

How is it going with your grow, Gary? Haven't seen much pictures of it lately, curious on how your plants/pods are doing ;)

Thanks for asking Stefan. There's not much to show right now. August and the first couple weeks of September were brutally hot and dry here, and just about all my plants either stopped producing altogether, or only managed to eke out sad, pathetic little shriveled-up pods. The exceptions were those insane Doux Très Long plants—Unstoppable! And to think I was worried that they wouldn't like the Louisiana climate...

The weather just turned here last week—Last weekend's storms actually filled a wheelbarrow in my garden with rainwater, so things should start to turn around now...Still no Madame Jeanette pods, but there are 4 healthy plants down there that have no excuses now...

The original F1 NagaBrain mother plant in her second season. What is amazing about the pod load is that this video was shot only a week after the 100ºF temps broke. All my other plants are still recovering from the dog days, with only a few tiny little pods.

Shot using my new iPhone 5S—Any blurriness is the fault of the guy holding the camera.

Thanks Dan! I can't really take any credit....The productivity and amazing vigor of this plant is attributable mainly to the cross itself. I just water it and give it a little Liquid MG every now and then....

And of course Jamie (romy6) gets the credit for her creation!
