Thanks Trippa! I never get tired of the Hippy Y7, and it seems like the pods just keep getting more enormous...You're right about having Lulu on the job...I've almost figured out how to use her to actually build the RCW beds...When I start buying the wood chips by the truckload things should really begin to come together....

Nice plants and pods windchicken!

Thanks Mikey! Love your screen name!

This is what the ChocoNagas look like this morning. They are growing in my original RCW bed (3 years since amendment, no ferts):

Initial impressions are very good. The flavor, aroma, and heat are very much like Dorset Naga. Perhaps with less of the typical intensely estery character of the East Indian super hots. I believe this one is  a keeper.

Gary.. the photo i showed is from the NagaBrains you sent me and i gave Melissa to grow.. shes got two phenotypes... i am sending a pod or two to Chris P. .. hit him up as he's interested in the strain...

Those ChocoNaga's sure are mean looking!

LuLu looks like a big help there! Everyone should have one.

Thanks Scott! I just wish I had convinced myself to use Lulu several months or even years ago...I guess it's time when it's time!

Nice looking brown pepper, but unless it's just that particular pic, it seems to have less placenta than a solid Choco Bhut.

Check out the inside of one of my Choco Bhuts from 2012:

Scary pepper Charles! Thanks for the pik!

First time checking in for a bit,you may notice a gang of "likes". Plants and photos are top notch. Pod shots are nice and sharp.

*edit* I have a couple handfuls of those key chains.

Thanks for all the likes and for checking in, John! And it's always extra good to know there are other keychain collectors in your group... :P

That choc nagabrain is a nice color with that red brown tone!

Thanks Jason! It is a cool-looking pepper, and real tasty, but now I have to decide whether I want to take on the years-long chore of stabilizing yet another anomalous phenotype...I'm really more of a grower/producer than a breeder...

Thanks KD! How many plants does Melissa have? It's interesting that there are no red ones? The shape of her brown ones are more Seven-ish, while mine are more Naga-ish...

LOL, Had to got caught up.  See what happens when you miss a GLog or two in the suffle?!?  Really great looking NagaBrains, and it is interesting to see the differing phenos.  Also, that Yellow 7 is HUGE!

Lol, thanks Matt! Those huge 7s are about to wear me out, but I'm enjoying all the punishment...

It was 99ºF here yesterday, and the forecast is for more of the same for the next several days...I'm grateful that we did have a fairly moderate June and early July, however. That's not always the case...

My attention to the varieties I'm stabilizing could be better....but in the interest of full disclosure F2 NagaBrain Plant No. 6 seems to have too much N2 or some other mineral in its soil...I've been flushing the bed every day for the last 3 days, but it's not looking real good. I will harvest seeds from these pods this evening, in case this plant is the one best suited to carry on to the F3 generation...Anyone who is more experienced in this breeding thing, I would appreciate your input! As nearly as I can tell, Plant No. 6 seems to being growing true to the Naga Morich parent, but I'm losing confidence in my perception of all this...

How many F2 Nagabrain's you growing right now - 6 different variants? It looks good non the less!

Thanks Matt! In my grow there are 8 NagaBrain plants of the F2 generation—Of those 8, probably 5 are producing Naga-shaped pods like the photo above. At least one is producing red pods that are more 7 Pot-shaped, one is producing brown Naga-shaped pods, and one is producing Yellow 7-ish pods....

So, approximately 4 phenotypes...

Awesome, which phenotype are you trying to bring down another generation, or more than one? Very nice looking pods man, i looked back and saw the yellow and chocolate pics :)
