Windowfarms. Anyone tried these, specifically with peppers?

Stumbled on these the other day and was really intrigued. I'm going to set one up and use it with herbs and spices for sure but I was wondering if anyone has tried them with peppers. The website seems to think it would work saying that anything other than a root vegetable does well. I was worried they wouldn't get enough sunlight at just a windowsill. Thoughts?

Seems like they would be great for things like herbs, but that container is tiny. You probably could grow peppers, but wouldn't harvest too many. I think it would be good as a novelty and a good conversation piece though.

I'm thinking Bulgarian Carrot Peppers and some varieties of Bird Peppers. I have seen the DIY site. I think PVC pipes would work as well. I understand limited space in some cities. Look to Toyko and you will see amazing ideas !!!
