Would plant feed help?

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and really new to growing peppers, if you don't mind I have a quick question. Would putting plant food into my soil when I place my seeds in there aid with the germination step?

no it wouldn't help. Just needs moisture and heat. Having the germination tray in a closed environment helps retain humidity/moisture. Cheers =)

I would recommend against that. The chemicals in plant feed are designed to be absorbed once the plant already has an established root structure. Using it during germination could kill the seed before it has a chance to grow.

Instead, try a damp paper towel in a ziploc baggie, in a dark warm place in your house. Check periodically, and once sprouted, plant into the soil or whatever medium you're using.

If you're going to use plant foods of any kind, do not use them until the seedlings are about 6 inches high, and only use according to the instructions. In fact, I would say even half-strength that they recommend, just so you don't damage the burgeoning root system. Good luck, hope this helps.
