wanted WTB: Best Tasting Tomatoes

Anyone growing delicious kinda tomatoes they don't sell in the stores?
Like....Brandywine, Yellow Brandywine, Cherokee Purple...those kind of tomatoes!!
Looking to buy some if so!

Its well known that heirlooms like those don't ship well. That's why you don't see them in stores unless locally grown.

Good luck though.

I grew Brandywines and Cherokees this year but this heat has pretty much ended my season as they had no shade. Next year I will plant them in containers so I can move them out of the 100* plus sun.

Today will be the first day in several under 100*. A couple of weeks ago the same thing where it reeked havoc on my tomatoes in my raised bed. I have a section of fence that gets afternoon shade I will use next year and put peppers in the raised bed next season. Plus the drought where we are limited on amount of days we can water.

wow didnt even know we had any of those!!

We're getting into the best part of tomato harvest season so you should really check those out.  One of my favorite parts of summer is slicing up a few nice heirloom tomatoes and adding some nice salt and maybe olive oil.  The tomatoes you see at grocery stores can't compare.

Ive only ever had grocery store tomatoes and people keep telling me heirlooms are WAY better and put grocery ones to shame!
