wanted WTB Douglah and chocolate 7 pot fresh if possible

So I am sitting here trying to decide what I am going to grow next year as I have space for roughly 22 plants. I had a Douglah earlier this year and was a bit fond of the flavor and the level of heat it brought but I am also curious to try a chocolate 7 pot. I would like to have about 1/4 to 1/2 lb of each so that I could run a couple tests for their flavor. If all I get is PM's for Douglahs then I would still be quite happy. Here's hoping the weather in some of the other states has been a bit more.. stable than Ohio's. Thanks guys and gals..

Hey Ashes
Unfortunately I can't help with any fresh pods, I'm pretty sure you might have a hard time with that at this of year with anyone for that matter since the not-so-lovely frost has shown its face in most of the USA's backyards.

I can tell you though, if you do buy seeds for these varieties that tasting one of the seeds will give you a very good idea of what the flavor is like. Ajijoe here on THP sends dried halves and or a good portion of placenta with each seed packet he mails out, for the most part. I recieved half of a black naga and peach bhut filled with the seeds I had ordered from him. He's a good source to look into if you cant find fresh. Super nice guy too :D
Hope this helps, good luck!

Just to clarify, the Douglah and the Chocolate 7-Pot are the same. I believe you are actually thinking of the 7-Pot Brown, which is a different pepper. Here is a link to a thread from Judy (PepperLover) showing the main differences between the 2:

Douglah vs. 7-Pot Brown

Good luck tracking them down, I can vouch for the Douglah's flavor. It was good, not really fruity, but effervescent, similar to other 7-Pots near the red end of the spectrum, but with a more "earthy" flavor. Not bright like the yellows, but not quite as fruity or "bubble-gummy" as the red (I've had the Brain Strain as far as red 7-Pots go). It was sweet-ish and with crisp delicate flesh and thin skin.

Take care,
Karl

I don't know about fresh but I ordered dry Douglahs from Refining Fire Chiles with great success. Ground em into a powder and bring it with me everywhere I go.
