misc "Y" formation in capsicum chinense.........?

Hi Guy's

Searching for varieties each year that I like and grow well in my wee Scottish greenhouse......... over the last few year's I've been growing multiple varieties to maximise the varieties I can try .............but only one of each variety.

I'm finally finding varieties that I like and grow well for me ...........

I've noticed there is huge variation in the height at which the "Y" is formed some 3" or 4" others 12" or 15" !

Question for those who grow multiples of one variety:

Is the "Y" formation different for different varieties or is there a variation within a single variety ??

I would say it seems quite variable between siblings from unstable parents, but quite similar within stable varieties.

I wasn't sure that all pepper plants develop this "Y" in the stem...
🤔
You could also top your pepper plants at an early age....
if you want shorter plants
