tapes so as not to overstress the rewind mechanism on the actual player.

I remember no electricity and no indoor plumbing, meaning no hot water heater....sooo....when you wanted to take a bath, it was either go to the creek or heat some water in the old black wash pots...which were huge...probably 50+ gallons...and this was in 1953....that's not that long ago...and yes, there was a Sears Catalog in the Privy...

I dont' think you guys have an inkling of how country I really am...
 
I'm not that old but I do remember getting our first caller id at the house, it was a huge deal and it was a separate little box that plugged into the phone and I just thought it was the coolest thing ever
 
I remember when I didn't have to dial an area code to call my neighbor. So I'm young. I can still play. ;) now I just click on there name. 7 clicks to 10 clicks to 1 and no miss dial.
