Rocotos are great, very resistant to cool weather. Heres some i picked last week. Most years they survive well into the new year for me. This year we've got them in a make shift unheated greenhouse so hopefully they'll overwinter till spring in there.

How often do you water? A lot of times my overwatered plants look like that with new growth coming out really pale and that pot is quite large given the size of the plant so it could stay wet a long time.

1 gram of calcium acetate would give you 253ppm of calcium in 1 liter of water. A typical hydroponic fertilizer would would generally provide 150-200ppm.    That ice melt says it is enhanced with Calcium Magnesium Acetate I wouldn't trust it to not contain contaminants.

If its the colour you are expecting and it is uniform across the pepper I'd go for it. Certain peppers like jalapenos are often picked green. If you want to save the seeds leave them to over ripen.
