That being said.. I do realize that if it was just a wonky first pod it won't replicate. Mainly just for S and G's

That was also my understanding Andy. Which is why I believed I could replicate the pod. Either way I'll be growing it out next season.

The scotch bonnet originates from the Caribbeans. To my understanding the P.Dreadie Bonnet is his select strain that he grew out to get his own unique look. http://thehotpepper.com/topic/58705-p-dreadie-memorial-group-grow-2016/

Thanks for the knowledge Jubnat. So in order for me to isolate this specific look the other pods on the plant would also need to display it?

No offense taken. I was under the impression that by selecting pods that have unusual characteristics could be replicated by growing out the seeds and selecting be pods that looked like what you want. Now I could be wrong but isn't that exactly what P. Dreadie did to get his unique scotch...

This was the first ghost pod to form on one of my nursery bought plants. The rest of the pods on the plants look like the typical ghost phenotype. http://imgur.com/1KINFFn Is this just one of those wonky first pods? Either way I'm saving seeds from the pod to try to replicate this look. The...

I've always left them but does pinching off the flower buds actually promote growth? I'm curious if this is fact or a myth. I understand that plants produce more growth hormones (auxins, gibberellins, cytokins, etc.), when they're being attacked by insects or when topped. But does the same thing...

Looking for the 20 hottest peppers in the world

Welcome and good luck with your plants! Sorry to hear about the poor germination rates.. 18/120 is unacceptable. I've purchased seeds from peppersbymail.com and had an overall good experience. Check out their seed collections for the best deals.

    pests deficiency? pest?

If edema is the cause then it would be a result of your plant not getting adequate air flow... stemming from your lack of potting soil in the container. Regardless of the cause you need to take solids advice and fill that container up asap.

    pests deficiency? pest?

That being said.. take this suggestion with a grain of salt. I've never personally dealt with INSV so I can't accurately diagnose it. You can however buy strips from a company called agdia that can confirm the case.
