hybrid Most "stable" Super Hot hydrids

I have been able to do that with the orange scorpions (sourced in Italy) that I grow since a few years (as mentioned). They do seem to have some unstable traits, where the bumps disappear on 1:4 peppers, and the lobes seem to average 3, while some chunky ones seem to have 4 lobes. They are...

hybrid Most "stable" Super Hot hydrids

Well, that is the main point, how long have they been with us? According to folks in the Caribbean, they have been around since they can remember. The supposedly record breaking ones are the new ones, but the scorpion pepper is nothing new or recent, dating back decades. Anyway, this is what...

hybrid Most "stable" Super Hot hydrids

I heard that the scorpions are heirloom. Is this true?

So because a famous person said something, we are now doubting such a simple fact? I am honestly confused.

plant Do Trinidad Scorpions change shape as they ripen?

cannot be certain, but they look like an Italian pepperoncino I grew a few years ago. Is the bush compact (about 30cm tall)? If so, they are not very hot, but safe to eat. Hopefully others will chime in.

favorite If you could only grow "one" superhot ?

The habanero's heat profile is what I like, and in the superhots, I find the scorpions have the same profile, just much hotter. That's why I vote trinidad scorpion. Also, very strong and productive plants.

plant Do Trinidad Scorpions change shape as they ripen?

I had the same problem once with Hornback. Bought a dorset naga, and ended up with the chili in my profile pic... I speculate it is a goat pepper, but who knows...

plant Do Trinidad Scorpions change shape as they ripen?

It is not a trinidad scorpion. They do not change shape as they ripe. Sad to tell you bro: this has happened to me too... Do you have more seeds in the package? You may have a stray seed there... Otherwise a bogus provider. Edit: FloraSelf I believe is a reputable seed provider. I think I...

chinense Scorpion-ghost f-whatever sold as reaper?

The same happened to me. Seeds sold as reapers then dissapointment at the end of the season. To this day I have never gotten reapers out of so called reaper seeds.

pod Supposed to be Trinidad Moruga Scorpion

Maybe grab a little, tiny, bitty bite and tell us how it burns?  Otherwise it does not look like my scorpions.  But shape varies a lot, on many factors.  Heat, though, will make it clear.  You will know if it's a scorpion once you bite it.

pod Supposed to Be Scotch Bonnet

These yellow scorpions are wonderful aroma peppers with a world class punch.  Just use a little bit since the heat rivals record holders, but definitely a wonderful pepper in my opinion.  They smell to me like pineapple with orange.  I know it is subjective, but it's hard to imagine a better...

pod Supposed to Be Scotch Bonnet

Second that.  I have grown these for the same time this year and that is how they look like.  The pods vary quite a bit each, but generally they are like that.  If your plant is very productive, I would say the yellow one is definitely a trinidad scorpion variant (likely moruga yellow).   Also a...

New in the forum and need your help to ID this beauty ;)

Hi Vevin,   I think many features are right to call it a 7-pot (more so than a scotch bonned which was the second main option).   The pod sizes sure are a lot smaller than the habaneros I am used to purchase, and my understanding is that the scotch bonnet's are about the same size.  That...

    Bahamian Goat Pepper

Thank you for your input!   Those are absolutely stunning peppers.  I think this is the answer.   I will do a final follow up in that thread with some extra pictures of my 11 pepper haul and declare them an goats (finally).  After I post the pics I will ping you, since mine are equally...
