container First time in containers - am I on the right track?

I grew all my peppers in raised beds until a few years ago. (Tampa Bay Area) I have a nursery where I do bougainvillea and hibiscus and I create my potting mix on site. I use this mix now for my peppers with good success. Use one part perlite, one part of a good Canadian peat moss, and four...

Difference in heat from pod to pod from single plant?

I can tell the difference from one pod to another on most of my plants. I guessing it has to do about how much shade or sun each pod gets.

    Pepper spray to the face

I think that answers my question. I don't plan on personally challenging your results.

    Pepper spray to the face

I was watching TV tonight and they we're talking about paintball type guns that shoot pepper powder balls. The idea is when the balls break, they powder gets in eyes, nose, mouth, etc. So it acts like a more localized, pepper spray. As a "no one special" chilihead, I routinely use ghost pepper...

I'm going to the Florida Ag Expo tomorrow

One thing I usually see at these things is some of the new hybrids that will be commercially available for the following year. Usually there is a pepper variety or two, so if I spot something, I'll take pictures.

    A little advice please.

I start most plants and cuttings under 2 bulb 48 in 6500k daylight bulbs. With peppers, I start them 12 inches below the light, when the first set of true leaves develop, I move them to within six inches of the light, after a few more leaves I move them within 3-4 inches. At 82 degrees they...

    Here's a different problem

I started some seeds awhile back to check viability and to try a different germination method. Once plants germinated, I moved approximately twenty seedlings into 2.5 nursery pots. Almost all of them yesterday we're tiny two leaf plants and a few still had a seed helmet. This morning, I had...

    A little advice please.

Geeme gave good advise. One thing you mentioned was a plant growing tall and leggy. That's a plant needing to be closer to the light source. Either lower the lights and put the seedlings on something to get them closer to the light.
