Just put an end to this years harvest. I went and picked the rest of the pods green of the plants, and they're maturing beautifully in my kitchen at the moment.
The plant itself is retired to a smaller pot (2.5 gal) inside, under a 45W LED grow light - starting to put out new growth.
My new...
How is the policy for harvesting unripe pods?
My plant is still loaded with around 1 kg of unripe pods as this time, but is suffering from massive leaf drop and we could very well have our first frost within a week.
I just picked every last ripe/ripening pod off the plant and trimmed all the...
In the light of recent events, aka. Guru's last harvest ;) (Damn, that's impressive). I went out and emptied my plant for ripe pods. I won't have many more ripe pods, unless the weather turns around.
I'm so sorry to hear about your rain-problems Scott! We've had a lot of rain too, but...
Another update for me.
New total weight: 1657 + 509 = 2166g.
My plant is starting to thin out on pods, I might have another 500g on there if I'm lucky. The weather has gotten colder too, and pods are ripening a lot slower than usually.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with all of...
I'll chime in with another two harvests of mine. The plant is still going strong, and there are plenty of unripe pods on there. The weather has stopped cooperating though.. All summer long, we've had 20-30 degrees celsius, but it seems to be over now.
That should put me in at...
Just a quick update from me! Everything is coming along nicely, despite a considerable amount of neglect on my end. The seed was germinated by just soaking it in water for 4 days (i forgot about it), and it had germinated by the time i remembered.
The seedling was then planted in potting soil...
Another weigh-in for me. 453g more, which in total adds up to:
8 + 102 + 453 = 563 g
Anyone have any suggestions or recipes that are well suited for this pepper? I still have left over scorpion powder from 2 years ago, and I only harvested 400g back then. So I'm clueless as to what to do...
My second weigh-in. This time for 102 grams, which puts me in at 110g for now. But don't worry I counted around 200 pods on the plant so far, and more coming in every day.
I'm currently deathly afraid as to what to use all of these peppers for! I've tried eating a single one on a meal from...
Haven't posted many pods yet, but it won't be long until I have a good harvest. There is currently about 180 pods on the plant (i might've missed a few while counting)
That's impressive!! I don't understand how you have achieved that much growth with 2 months less than us.
I just had my first harvest, but I have a lot more pods coming, and the plant is still growing strong.
Total: 8 g.
My chosen plant:
Don't you worry! We're all having very happy dreams about your pods turning red ;)
I feel like my pods are coming in with tails - I guess i know the fear.
I'll get a couple pics up soon!
Looking good everyone! I envy those of you who have full sized pods already!
My plant just stopped dropping its flowers, and due to current weather conditions it has slowed down its growth a bit, in addition to that it has been fighting a lot of ants lately.
Letting the seeds rest in a pot of boiling water untill they germinate is a great substitute for a heat-mat aswell ;)
As a bonus your seedlings will have absorbed so much heat that they can go straight outside in the frost after they pop.
I started a couple of Trinidad Scorpion Peach pepper plants in November '17. Just to have something to tend to, and I might've kept them in way too small pots for the first 6 months of their lives, but they recently hit the ground.
One of them started producing pods about 8 weeks ago, and I'm...
Mine just won't stop dropping flowers.
I think it might be due to the recent pot-up to a 450L pot (120 gallons or so).
Might be putting all of it's energy into bigger roots.
But great looking pods everyone! I have a few on a much smaller YBS-plant, that I have as a backup
