Yep - same thing happened to my trinidad congos - 2 or 3 of them split. the good news is that the split skins didn't make a difference in the hot sauce I made out of them last night!

SL - 105 degrees? I dried some cayennes last weekend at 135 and it probably took 20 hours. I'll try lowering the temp next time, but how much longer do you think it would take at that low a temp?
UZ - I picked up a Nesco dehydrator at bed bath and beyond. it's pretty decent, always gets good...
I'm going to add a +1 for Biker Billy. Great taste and heat! I actually found seed at a Lowe's 2 years ago but they didn't have it this past season.
I'll add another +1 for the jaloro. I grew two this year and although I had fungus issues with those two especially, they were very productive...
I'm in year three at my city's community garden. My yard is REALLY shady so I can't grow much at home (although I do have about 40 tomatoes and chiles growing in containers there). Our garden is also all organic, but I'm jealous of you other posters - we only have 10x20' plots!
