    Edit: and if it was Serrano the SHU would be 10,000-23,000. I can always feel the tingle from a Jalapeño at 5,000 SHU no worries. These mystery peppers definitely have zero heat.

    Just a follow up post for this one - from what I read about Chile de Arbol the fruit go red and have a heat level of 15,000-30,000 SHU.    No fruit have turned red and I picked the first fruit (stopped growing) after a few weeks and tried it with much anticipation - zero heat.     Thank you everyone for your help - this is great news.   The Chile de Arbol looks like it will be a cracker to have one hand. Nice level of heat and smokey flavour.

    Uh.. I only started growing peppers in October 2017 - first planted seeds were "yellow trinidad scorpions" from eBay.   Alas, I think I have been given bogus seeds.
