Hello,   First year growing/doing anything with peppers and I might have some regular orange habaneros left over. I'm drying everything else (which I imagine can still be used as normal, non-dried peppers for all intents and purposes), but I was thinking about making a sauce... something simple...

Yeah, that's an undeveloped lot behind me, though I can see a house going in there soon. That said, I think a raised bed back there is probably my best bet.

I can't remember the size (I think 4lbs), but I do remember that, according to the recommended dosage, I would need two of the bags spread equally through my mix. I figured with the nutrients from the compost and whatnot that one bag will be plenty.

I think I'll be heading to Lowes to look for some fine bark pines. If they have some, I'll cut back on the ProMix a bit and use them. Even if they don't, I'm still thinking about using less ProMix and picking up more compost. Haven't quite decided yet...

Thanks Rym. Not sure if I should cut back on the ProMix and use more compost and/or perlite. We still have lows below 50F here, so I'm guessing I have about another week before I can finally plant out.

Still undecided here, might try mixing my own if I can find everything for cheap enough. Still not sure on the ratios... from this thread and others, some people have success with just cheap soil or moss mixed only with perlite or bark chips. That seems easy enough.   I also see ProMix...

So I've got a little over 15 plants for my first grow and with them, an equal amount of 5 gallon fabric pots. I feel to novice to mix my own soil and don't want to ruin my entire harvest, but I'm unsure of a cheap method for filling all these pots. A local CostCo has regular MiracleGro potting...

I've been contemplating this for a while, but can't quite come to a conclusion - how exactly are raised beds different than a traditional garden? Most raised beds don't have a bottom, so wouldn't the roots eventually go in the ground anyways? I'm also seeing that many raised beds aren't too...

  I'm thinking it is either that or over-watering. Just strikes me odd, but my ~16 other seedlings did just fine under the same treatment.

First and foremost, pictures --   http://imgur.com/a/FDN61   What you see there are two of my chocolate habanero seedlings. As you can see, the cotys on plant 1 are basically all white, but as of now they have yet to shrivel. Plant 2 is white and shriveling. These pictures were taken last night...
