I don't use a thermostat with my mat. But I do keep a thermometer in the soil to monitor it. Also the room temp is low 60'sF so the soil temps stay around 80F.

Garlic is one of the easiest vegetable to grow. It requires very little maintenance. Garlic has very little disease or pest problems. Seed Savers Exchange is another good source for garlic.

Lemon juice also works as a ph down.   Gypsum is Ca and S, but I thouhgt it did not affect soil ph.

I use dyna grow and dyna bloom, and maxi grow and maxi bloom. Been reading great things about floranova grow and bloom, and may try that soon.

Lemon Drop is C. Baccatum The only one I have experince with.
