They are both cucumber beetles. Neither good.

No problem. I solarized the soil this year. Can't tell to much except the ground was extremely soft and easy to work. I also used a 14" tine Broadfork to help "burp" the soil and get some oxygen deeper in the ground. I have NO association with Growers Supply, but it's where I get almost 99%...

I grow lots of varieties of peppers. For some reason, I always have issues with White Habaneros. They come up then the stem shrinks at the soil line. This is my second year growing them and out of 100+ plants, all planted together, no other plants have this issue. My recovery is to nurse...

Awesome. Be careful not to over-fertilize. You likely know, but I've seen some monster plants with leaves bigger than your hand and hardly any peppers. Have a great day!

I can't remember the exact name, but we always called these Banana Spiders growing up in Southern Illinois. They are FANTASTIC for your garden. However, I haven't seen even one in Southern Indiana and been living here 20 years now. Unfortunately, I now see Black Widows. Not cool.

I incorrectly stated planted and should have said TRANSPLANTED. These were growing in 12 oz plastic cups until the 1st part of June.

Lost a majority of my plants to the excessive rainfall we've had this year. However, buckets seem to be performing great. This is definitely the direction I'm moving in for next year. July 16, 2011 Bucket Video
