7b plants ripen time on average?

Went out of town and came home to a bright orange CR - things are looking up. The 7pot should be following which is covered in pods by the way and huge ones.  I don't have patience but most of the time have the sense to ask before acting.

7b plants ripen time on average?

Is it normal for peppers in zone 7d to not show any signs of ripening if planted in late May? I have a lot of pods going and some have been there since delivery. Actually I have had 2 chocolates ripen but that plant produced first and the last ripe one was a month ago.  Is there something I...

Would you consider this a normal amount of growth?

Potting Mix nutrients are great but.... Best idea is test your soil to keep from over feeding. What kind of nutrients are you talking about? If the numbers are under 10 you should be kinda safe.

    Why will it not grow?

Might be a good time since the pots have compacted a bit to add a good layer of mulch after you let them dry a bit. Then you can really cut back on watering. Even in 90+ full sun my 5.5Gal pots that are black as well don't need watering and when it's time to feed I use liquid ferts so they get...

    Leaf discolouration

I'm no expert (far from it) but have ran into a similar problem with certain plants doing well while others with same treatment are fine. Have you tested the soil? Wonder how the potassium levels are, probably fine just curious. A soil test even a cheep one I'm finding is a very good tool.  ...

To salt or not to salt?

That is an excellent point I hadn't even thought of that. Learning again. Is it OK at 7-6 range?

To salt or not to salt?

Thanks for input     Sounds good. I'll probably hold off on the salt. Thanks for the deficiency guide link.     Yeah the pots do ramp up pretty quick and poor choice on my part. I really need to address that probably sooner than later for sure. We are upper 80's low 90s right now. But man the...

To salt or not to salt?

I have a couple of runts that to be honest also don't look all that great. The Garden Salsa Hybrid and Red Savina. I actually moved them away from the others just in case. Leafs are pale and curly wondering if maybe they just didn't take the sun very well at hardening.   They are in the same...

jamaican hot chocolate question or maybe Capsicum Chinense question in general

Very true. I don't usually make powder but should. Guessing you have to let some of these guys set for a while after making powder before pouring into the storage device. So you don't coat your lungs in heat dust.   If you get a bulk of powder do you freeze it or is it OK in a dark place with as...

jamaican hot chocolate question or maybe Capsicum Chinense question in general

:) That makes a lot of sense. I forget to trust the plants all the time. But at least I don't act before running it by you guys I guess. Thanks for help     Good to hear - I'm looking forward to those babies. Probably going to have to freeze some if I get that many.

jamaican hot chocolate question or maybe Capsicum Chinense question in general

Long time fan of this pod first time growing.   Of all my plants this little guy is producing like crazy and it seems to soon. Only outside for 3 weeks. Not even a foot tall and already dropping 8-12 pods. Is this normal for this plant? I'm asking in case I should have been topping the early...

hot-sauce Sorry Guys Your Favorite Hot Sauce is Bad!!!

My favorite eat with everything sauce currently is Marie Sharp's Fiery Hot Habanero Pepper Sauce (45mg of sodium and no onions version). Super addictive and low vinegar and salt with plenty of flavor.   I bought a few bottles not thinking anything about it but later when I went back for more all...

    Wet weather

Tell me about it we haven't had must dry days or sun in VA either lately. I'm lucky to not be in the floodplain but even still the rain is enough to cause issues no matter where you are it seems all soil is saturated. I'm in grow pots so they drain alright but I just got them hardened before all...

    Hello from VA

I grow chili peppers and enjoy decent amounts of heat normally but also enjoy a tolerance push every now and then. Recently I started growing some super and ultra hots.   Looking forward to hearing tips, tricks, recommendations and maybe some trading if I end up with anything people would want.
