Potting Mix nutrients are great but.... Best idea is test your soil to keep from over feeding. What kind of nutrients are you talking about? If the numbers are under 10 you should be kinda safe.  

Might be a good time since the pots have compacted a bit to add a good layer of mulch after you let them dry a bit. Then you can really cut back on watering. Even in 90+ full sun my 5.5Gal pots that are black as well don't need watering and when it's time to feed I use liquid ferts so they get...
