breeding Guides to pollinating and selective breeding peppers?

That is good,   Going by the cross table at the bottom, could you say in order of best to worst you want:   HF (highly fertile) NG (normal) PF (partial fertile) EC (embryo, does this mean you need to help 'synthesise' the embryo?) IV (not viable)   I see, the above article indeed was helpful I...

breeding Guides to pollinating and selective breeding peppers?

Hello,   Does anyone know a good comprehensive guide on these topics? Or some beginning material.   Mainly I want to know the difference between male and female flowers, best approaches to cross pollinating etc.

seeds Are seeds in one fruit identical? (Bit of genetic talk)

I am reading up on and interested in cross breeding and selective breeding some chillis.   Just a simple question, I know obviously seeds from one plant will vary differently in their dominant and recessive genes but will one fruit from one flower contain identical seeds or will that one fruit's...

    Are C. Annums really Perennial?

I have read that C. Annums will indeed last several years if looked after properly. I have also read they are stricly annual plants from other sources.   Is there perhaps certain breeds that are only annual?   On the same note, how long will a chilli plant last if looked after?

seeds Potted Plants - Double seedlings

Also wondering why it is bad?   I have heard they will grow fine, but not as big as an individual but will both yield fruit, so you sort of even out in the end?

ID please - Two chilli fruits

Yea they do like a good chilli.   I gave them one of my trinidad scorpion plants, about a foot tall and just about to flower so they have some hot ones on the way.   Might give the hab a go and see how hot it really is then, unless there is a backyard way to measure scoville.

seeds Potted Plants - Double seedlings

Hi I am new to cultivating chillis, I purchased some Trinidad Scorpion seeds a couple months back and they are growing up quite nicely.   I grew the seedlings in little seed grower trays I got from a plant shop and the instructions said to sow 2-3 seeds in each pod and I did, the thing is now my...

ID please - Two chilli fruits

Hi, got a couple chillis from my parents yard, they don't know anything about what they are. The purple/black plum looking ones came from a really nice looking dark nearly black plant, it was slim and tall as opposed to bushy plants I am use to seeing.   The orange one came from a normal looking...

How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

oh wow, yea I water 1-2 times a day if its not raining. It's fairly chunky soil, just regular potting mix from bunnings (not the bunnings brand, funnily enough the salesmen steered me away from it). Should I bring them in on rainy days? and how long can they last without water?   I would say it...
